This Road

I wrote the first two English verses of this poem with the idea that it would become a song, and then passed it on to the family in Worcester to add their own verse(s). The result was surprising as two more verses appeared written by our daughters, and then the whole thing was set to music using Artificial Intelligence by a son-in-law. But here is the poem's text.

Haec via tortuosa et inaequalis
Numquam recta esse destinata erat
Quomodo eam navgare eligimus.....
Non fatum est

This road is our road
Let's tread it all lightly
It's not such a heavy load
Just curved n' twisted slightly

This road's not easy or straight
Life is for livin'
Lively and givin'
And love always conquers hate

This road is uneven
We're here for a reason
Sometimes it's frightening
My load needs some lighten-ing

This road can be happy and bright
Challenging times can lead us to the dark
But if we all stand together and fight
We can navigate this path with heart
